KENTUCKY RURAL ELECTRIC WASHINGTON YOUTH TOUR
2024

Up to four deserving high school juniors from the Licking Valley RECC service area will be awarded all-expense-paid trips to Washington, DC, (scheduled for the week of June 17-22, 2024) as participants in the 2024 Kentucky Rural Electric Washington Youth Tour Program sponsored jointly by Licking Valley RECC and the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives. 

Scheduled activities include tours of the monument, memorials, the U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknowns, and the Smithsonian Institution.  Other exciting events include meeting with Kentucky’s Congressional delegation.

To be eligible, you must be a high school junior between the ages of 16 and 18 in good academic and disciplinary standing.  Your parent(s) or guardian(s) must receive electric service at their primary residence from Licking Valley RECC.  In addition, each Youth Tour participant must complete an application form, receive a favorable report from their guidance counselor and English teacher, be involved in school and community activities, complete an essay, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions as specified by Licking Valley RECC.

Children or grandchildren of Licking Valley RECC employees, directors, and attorneys are not eligible.
